“ELA Luxembourg, Association of the Year 2019!”
On Friday 5 December 2019, in the magnificent setting of the Casino 2000 in Mondorf, in the presence of HRH the Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, the election of the best athletes of 2019 took place. Every year for 65 years, the Luxembourg Association of Sports Journalists (Sportspress) has awarded the trophy for the best athletes of the year. This year, ELA Luxembourg was presented with the Sport and Disability Prize.
In front of more than 500 people, Jean-Paul Friedrich, the association’s president, received the trophy and was able to explain his daily fight and the actions we carry out to raise donations. A speech that hit home, because in addition to the trophy, Sportspress made a significant donation to support ELA, and many athletes pledged to support us. As a result, no fewer than 7 new ambassadors joined the association.
We are extremely honoured to have received this award, recognising our efforts throughout the year to make the association known and raise public awareness of leukodystrophies. In 2020, we will invest ourselves even more, together with all our ambassadors, who are involved and caring.
